Sign in to your RUNNERS account in the window, and every computer running Remote on the same account appears as a tile on one screen. Click a tile and that computer's monitors appear as tabs, and the chosen monitor's screen updates live as video (up to 15 frames a second).
With Send Clicks on, clicking the picture clicks the same spot on that computer, and keys you type after clicking go there too. Korean and other composed text is sent through a text box. The switch starts off every time the window opens.
There is no separate network to set up: computers signed in to the same RUNNERS account connect to each other. The server only passes on which computers are on and the short messages that set up a connection; screens, clicks and keys go directly between the two computers, encrypted, without passing through the server.
When someone looks at this screen, the arrows on the menu bar icon move, and a yellow Being Viewed sign with the viewing computer's name appears at the top of the window and in the right-click menu. Disconnect Now cuts them off at once. Only computers with Let Other Computers Click and Type turned on accept clicks and keys.
With six MCP tools, Claude can list the computers, see their screens, and click and type once approved. In an app that isn't on the allow list, a password prompt or System Settings, a person approves first.
Runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 14 or later. The dmg for each chip is on GitHub Releases.
Install Remote on both the computer you look from and the one being looked at, and sign in to the same RUNNERS account on both.
Click the Remote icon in the menu bar to open the window, then in This Mac at the bottom, click Allow… next to Screen Recording and Accessibility.
The computers on the same account appear as tiles in the window. Click a tile to see it large, and turn on Send Clicks to click.
Paste all three lines into Terminal. Recent Homebrew asks once before using a repository outside its official list, so the second line is there. It picks the right build for your chip.
brew tap runners-im/tap
brew trust runners-im/tap
brew install --cask remoteWhen another computer or Claude asks, the screens of this Mac's monitors (kept in memory only, never saved), the list of monitors, and whether permissions are on.
When you sign in, your email and password; and while it's running, this computer's name and a random device ID, to the RUNNERS server. Screens, clicks and keys don't pass through the server; they go only to the other computer, encrypted.
The RUNNERS server (server.system.runners.im), your other computers and phones on the same account, a public STUN server for finding a direct path, and the GitHub releases page to check for updates (a minute after launch and once a day).

We're still deciding which new features Pro will add.
We're getting payments and RUNNERS accounts ready. Once they open, you can start Pro right here.
No. Everything that is free today stays free. Pro only adds new features that don't exist yet.
Download the dmg for your chip from GitHub Releases and drag Remote to Applications, or paste brew install --cask runners-im/tap/remote into Terminal. Install Remote on both the computer you look from and the one being looked at.
Remote normally lives only in the menu bar. Click the Remote icon in the menu bar and the window opens right away; while it's open, Remote shows in the Dock too. Right-click the icon for a short menu.
Two. Screen Recording, to take pictures of the screen, and Accessibility, to send clicks and keystrokes. Click This Mac at the bottom of the window to see whether each one is on, with an Allow… button for each.
Yes. Two computers can see each other only when both are signed in to the same RUNNERS account. The account is free, and you can create one with an email and password in the Remote window or with Sign In at the top right of runners.im. It's the same account as Split, Prompt and Monitor.
No. Only computers and phones signed in to the same RUNNERS account can connect, and if you turn off Let Other Computers See This, nobody can look. Clicks and keys are accepted only when Let Other Computers Click and Type is on, and it starts off.
In Terminal, register the MCP script inside Remote with claude mcp add remote. The full command is in the GitHub README. Remote must be running, and the script talks to it over a socket only your user can open.
The side being viewed (the computer showing its screen) works only on macOS for now. Windows and Linux builds are also on GitHub Releases, but they are still being tested.
iPhone and Android apps are in the works. When they are in the stores, the App Store and Google Play buttons on this page will turn on.
Screens, clicks and keys go directly between the two computers, encrypted (WebRTC), without passing through the server, and are not saved on either computer. The RUNNERS server knows only your sign-in and which computers on the same account are on. There are no ads and no usage stats.
A minute after launch and once a day it checks for a new version, downloads it first, then asks before installing. Press Later and it won't ask again that day. Turn off Check for Updates Automatically to stop checking.
If you used Homebrew, brew uninstall --zap --cask remote also removes its settings. Otherwise choose Quit Remote, move Remote from Applications to the Trash, and remove Remote from the Screen Recording and Accessibility lists in System Settings.
Right-click the menu bar icon and choose Help & Feedback to open the GitHub issues page, and leave a note there.
